Outfits to pack when visiting Dubai This December

Does it snow in Dubai? No. Is it cold in Dubai? Absolutely yes.

Dubai’s December is all about balance, culture and adventure. Here’s exactly what you need. First, accept the dress code. While Dubai is Modern, Luxurious, and Technologically advanced, it is still an Islamic country with cultural expectations. This means certain dress principles are expected in public places, malls, government spaces and transport areas.

And yes you can pack lots of modest, stylish, and beautiful clothes for the holidays.

When you are out exploring the city, these four options will keep you culturally respectful, warm and comfortable.

Palazzo Co-ord Sets

If you’ve been saving those palazzo sets, that Dubai trip is your moment especially if the sets are thick, flowy and loose. You can pair your look with a Purse, Gloves and Platform sneakers or Block heeled sandals. So you can enjoy a carefree evening with no worries about walking and the cold weather. This is perfect for shopping at the malls and exploring the city.

Batwing Abaya
In our experience, the need for an Abaya will always pop up during your Dubai visit, either for aesthetic needs or compulsory entry requirements into certain tourist sites. For instance, the Abu Dhabi grand mosque requires you to be in an Abaya as an entry requirement. Batwing Abayas can come handy and versatile in many conditions as some can be worn fitted or loose because of the inner belt. It will give you a stylish, fitted or loose silhouette while still being modest and gorgeous. It flows, it flatters, and it’s perfect for date nights too.

Jeans and Tops
A pair of jeans with a jumper, t-shirt or hoodie will make a great combination for your December tour in Dubai. You could also pair complimenting jackets and earmuffs with your jeans. Sneakers or winter boots are great combinations as well. This fit is both functional and stylish for desert and mountain tours in the UAE.

Dresses

You can pack fitted, maxi, long and short dresses while exploring floral patterns and other trendy prints and colours. Remember to pack a thick pantyhose for the short dresses, so you can enjoy modesty and warmth. These items will create a perfect match for an evening brunch, day party or Safari trips.

Footwears
Your shoes matter alot. Sneakers and soft walking shoes are perfect for long sightseeing days. Casual sandals and flats will do great for afternoon beach outings and casual hotel days. You will need those heels or evening shoes as elegance is a big deal in fancy Dubai restaurants (Check out this link for more on what to wear for that fancy Dubai dinning)

Finally, don’t forget your long coats, thick jackets, Ghutra (you will need it for that signature desert safari photo) and shawls. Though there’s no snow in Dubai, it can get very windy with moderate rains in certain places. Remember those thermal leggings and warm socks for layering. Lastly, create your own checklist for essential items not mentioned here and make sure to tick all the boxes. Enjoy your trip to Dubai.
